Allied Home Warranty Review

Allied Home Warranty was founded to bring an institution of honesty to an otherwise complicated industry. Designed to continue the trend of other transparent American businesses like Southwest Airlines, Allied Home Warranty came into being in 2004 and has been winning plaudits ever since. Headquartered in Houston, this Texan breath of fresh air brings simplicity to the home warranty landscape and offers just as much as every other competitor – but goes the extra mile for its customers. Available to homeowners, home buyers or home builders – people lucky enough to live in a state with Allied Home Warranty available are in for an incredible easy ride. With professionally vetted contractors and an A+ rating from the BBB, any confidence in Allied is more than justified.

Packages & Plans

The main package on offer from Allied Home Warranty is the entry-level ‘Basic’ plan. This covers all AC, heating, ductwork, plumbing, stoppages and water heaters. Any issues arising from the result of rust, corrosion or unknown existing conditions also fall into this cover which costs $395.00 per year or $33.75 per month.

The ‘Premium’ plan protects everything from the ‘Basic’ coverage, but also brings in the appliances that you would ideally want from your home warranty. These range from ovens and ranges, to dishwashers, microwaves, garbage disposals and trash compactors. Electrical systems and fixtures are also covered (wiring, doorbells, fans, outlets) along with your garage door opener. For this plan, you’ll pay $515.00 per year or $43.75 monthly.

Both the ‘Premium’ and ‘Basic’ plans are fully customizable, with optional bolt-on coverage including ice maker, wine cooler, refrigerator, washer, dryer, pool, spa, septic pump, well pump and more. Standard home properties and condos are priced on the same model, but expect to pay around an extra $300 for a Duplex, $600 for a Triplex and $900 for a Fourplex.

Customer Support

For a company famed for being one of the most honest and transparent providers around, we had high standards when we came to look at the customer support model. We weren’t disappointed when we read that Allied Home Warranty only works with service providers and affiliate contractors that it personally knows and trusts. You can reach the customer support team through a number of dedicated telephone lines, dedicated e-mail addresses or one of the two Texas offices that the company operates from. From Sales to Service, we experienced a very high-level of personal service from the customer support agents.

Bottom Line

The warranties from Allied Home Warranty are just as good as anybody else’s – but with two key differences. You’re looking at a much lower price but most importantly, an unparalleled level of customer service. The contract is literally one-page long and everything is designed to make it as easy as possible for you – the customer. What more can we ask for?
