Blue Ribbon Home Warranty Review

Blue Ribbon Home Warranty is one of the few local businesses left in the United States. Based headquartered and serving only Colorado, this Lakewood company was founded in 1985 to support Colorado homeowners, buyers and sellers. Now extending beyond just the transaction process, anybody living within the state is eligible to take advantage of the prestigious service on offer from a provider with almost thirty years of experience. As the very first warranty provider in the world to offer cover for roof leaks, as well as being the only company of its kind to provide free pre-inspections – Blue Ribbon is a forward-thinking company that does things first and does things right. Putting its customers above all else, Blue Ribbon pre-screens all of its contractors and uses the same ones over and again to provide local expertise at low prices. With an A- accreditation from the BBB after three decades of trading, it’s easy to see why Blue Ribbon is the top choice for CO residents.

Packages & Plans

Whilst you might think that Blue Ribbon must be a small company trading in a single state, nobody has told the sales team! Blue Ribbon customers are eligible for one of 4 different warranty plans and each come with 3 upgrade plans. Add to this that you get 14 months for your annual price and Blue Ribbon competes with the national companies with ease.

Disregarding the more complex realtor options, the core service of Blue Ribbon for homeowners is split into three main plans. The first, Silver, will cost $329 annually which – remember – is actually a 14-month plan. Silver will cover your heating, ductwork, plumbing, sump, electrical, garage door, vacuum, doorbell, fans, refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, microwave, garbage disposal and trash compactor.

The Gold plan costs slightly more at $399 for 14-months, but goes a few steps beyond its smaller cousin. On top of all of the Silver coverage, you’ll also find protection for your washer and dryer, any roof leaks and your central A/C.

The Platinum coverage takes a significant jump and will cost $729 for the same contract length, but adds a maintenance plan, 3 additional items of your choice and the coveted ‘Blue Ribbon Premier Upgrade.’ With these added to its arsenal, you’re covered for all of the ancillary parts for your appliances ranging from rollers and racks to hinges and springs.

Customer Support

You won’t be surprised to find that Blue Ribbon is one of the most customer-friendly companies that we’ve come across. Running everything out of its Colorado base in downtown Lakewood – you can get in touch with the customer company through a number of methods. Firstly you can visit the main office, or you can call toll-free or on the dedicated Denver Metro area line. You can also call the Spanish support line or the after-hours emergency number. Each area has a specialist local representative that you can get in touch with or, failing all that, drop Blue Ribbon a line on Facebook or Twitter.

Bottom Line

If you live in Colorado, this is a no-brainer. Blue Ribbon has all of the best contractors, offers better value than most national companies and responds in lighting quick reaction. If only the company would roll out its stellar service to the rest of the U.S, it would be fighting for the very top spot.
